The title refers to both the fact that Malachi has turned THE BIG 1!!! And that I have neglected to blog for yet another month so this will take a while.
Lets get started... My kids in the car...
Especially when it cost $2 to go up and down for a minute and they both get a steering wheel.
Adalia LOVES her Aunty Scarlett and Uncle Jony... so much in fact that she spent 3 saturday nights in a row having sleep overs. So then I think my mum realised that Adalia had come of age, and invited her for her first Memma sleep over in which Adalia received her first curly hair do.
The picture below reminds me of my childhood idle Shirley Temple.
With the weather warming up we are noticing a few first for our little boy...
enjoying his OWN ice cream with his sister,
and how he gets around so that his knees now in shorts don't touch the ground!
It has also allowed me the mummy privilege of having my children play in their sand pit for hours while I get on with the other fun facts of motherhood and wifeliness.
The great thing about close family is they are close! One of my neighbors always laughs that our street looks like a car park when we have FHE or a dinner, and that is with only half the potential family! I need a bigger family room!
For Malachi's first birthday I felt lazy and decided to have a small mostly family thing... The result was a long weekend of a birthday...
Friday, Lone Star for dinner and a complimentary birthday Brownie that Malachi briefly tasted,
Before his sister took over to show him how it is done.
Saturday, set up at Scarlett and Jony's place, shop, and make his cake, a combined effort with artistic dad and 'read the how-to-book but not artistic' mum.

I think it was a great first time effort and a fun thing to share in making for our boy.
As with nearly all 1 year olds Malachi loves balloons, especially the floating animal kind.

Sunday, General Conference then 'quiet family party' (as quiet as a largish family can be, monday another party with Ricky's family who were unable to come sunday)
The new game, PEEK-A-

BOO!

We are mostly looking but are still yet to get a 'good' family picture.

Below is Malachi with his Great Grandma

And lucky last is a picture of our newest Nephew, by only a week after Lachlan...
